Care Instructions

In this big ol’ world of ours, there are many things that can influence the condition of jewellery.  
Mama Saus wants you to love your treasures for a long long time, so encourages you to read and adopt the following care instructions to best love your new Silly Sausage piece. 

Gold and Silver Plating 
Perfumes, moisturisers and makeup can cause the plating of your jewellery to wear faster, so for this reason, Mama recommends that you put your jewellery on as the last step in your beauty/heading out routine. 

Both chlorine, and salt water can also place a fast forward on how your plating ages, so always take your special piece off before going for a dip! 


Cleaning Your Plated Jewellery 
Sometimes we all need a little extra TLC, and so even if you’ve avoided exposing your piece to any chemicals, Mama recommends very gently cleaning your plated piece with a soft cloth and warm water (avoiding any pearls) every once in a while. 

Storage 
To protect your jewellery from any knocks and scratches (and chipped glass beads!), remove your piece before bed, showering or swimming, and store in the box it arrived in.  
For any pieces with hanging charms, it’s particularly important to keep them stored flat, so that the rings they are secured with do not warp or open (which could cause the charms to fall). 
 

Mistakes Happen 
With all of this in mind, Mama knows that in life, mistakes happen. If you do have any mishaps along the way, never hesitate to reach out, and Mama Saus will gladly repair any accidents or replace aged plating for a nominal fee.
